Islamic Relief USA Awarded Charity Navigator's 4-Star Rating for Fourth Consecutive Year
Posted on 2/27/2007

BUENA PARK, CA (February 27, 2007) – For the fourth consecutive year, Islamic Relief USA has been awarded a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator, the largest charity evaluator in the United States. Out of the 5,131 charities evaluated by Charity Navigator as of February 1, 2007, only 4% have received four consecutive 4-star evaluations.

Throughout the years, Islamic Relief has maintained its high standards of fiscal responsibility and transparency. In the past four years that Islamic Relief has been evaluated by Charity Navigator, it has received their highest rating.

In a letter to Islamic Relief, President of Charity Navigator, Trent Stamp, commended the accomplishment:

"We have calculated a new rating for your organization based on the most current financial information available. We are happy to announce that Islamic Relief USA has earned a 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently allocate and grow its finances. Less than a quarter of the charities we've rated have received our highest rating, indicating that Islamic Relief USA outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible. This 'exceptional' rating from Charity Navigator differentiates Islamic Relief USA from its peers and proves that it's worthy of the public's trust."

Charity Navigator aims to "help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing information on over five thousand charities and by evaluating the financial health of each of these charities." Their free charity ratings can be found on the Web at www.charitynavigator.org.

Islamic Relief USA's Chairman of the Board Dr. Mohamed Amr Attawia said in a statement:

"We are grateful to God Almighty for this rating and thank our donors, partners and volunteers for helping us achieve this accomplishment for the fourth year in a row. We remain committed towards helping the poor and needy domestically and abroad in the most fiscally responsible way."
