New Jersey Muslim Community to Hold Benefit Dinner for "Children in Need"
Posted on 7/7/2006

BUENA PARK, CA (July 7, 2006) - In conjunction with the New Jersey Muslim community, Islamic Relief, an international relief and development organization, is holding a fundraising benefit this Saturday, July 8, to assist "Children in Need" around the world.

One out every four children in the world lives in a dangerously unstable environment. That is approximately 540 million children worldwide. Within the first five years of their lives, 30% of these children will suffer from malnutrition; 26% will never be immunized against the most basic childhood diseases; 19% will lack access to safe drinking water; and 17% will never attend school.

With field offices in many countries around the world, Islamic Relief is working hard to alleviate the suffering of children in need by providing projects such as family sponsorships, orphan support, water delivery and sanitation, medical assistance, food distributions, hygiene pack distribution, and education assistance, giving children around the world a chance to succeed in life.

Speakers include imams (leaders) from New Jersey area mosques. Media professionals are encouraged to attend this benefit dinner organized by the local community.
