Sioux Falls Public Library Hosts Lecture on Charity in the U.S. Posted on 7/11/2005 BURBANK, CA (July 11, 2005) - Clareen Menzies, representative of the international charity organization Islamic Relief, will be speaking at the Sioux Falls Public Library this Saturday, July 16, 2005 on the topic of "Charity in the U.S.: One Organization's Efforts."
Hosted by Sisters Need A Place – South Dakota, this public lecture will highlight the place of charity in American society and the work one aid organization is doing to help the needy in the United States and abroad.
As the Argus leader has mentioned, Islamic Relief, "A 21-year-old agency created to ease the suffering of the world's poorest people also plays a role in South Dakota.
"During her visit, she [Clareen Menzies] will meet with Anisah David of Bushnell, who helps women in various stages of life, such as those leaving abusive relationships who need jobs or want to advance their education. To help free up David's time from fund raising, Menzies encouraged Islamic Relief to contribute $5,000."
