9 Ways to Get Involved Today

1. Membership Drive
Give your friends or community members an opportunity to give their Zakah (mandatory almsgiving for Muslims) or Sadaqah (charity) to the needy throughout the world. By signing them up with Islamic Relief, they will receive Islamic Relief news and reports and help them keep in touch with the needs of impoverished people across the world. We can provide you with forms to distribute to people you know.

2. Islamic Relief Awareness
Does your neighborhood, mosque, or school know about Islamic Relief? Ask us for material and we will send you information to distribute to your community. Or simply distribute donation forms amongst your community and attain a piece of the blessing through each needy person being helped.

3. Donation Box Project
Where does your loose change go? Instead of leaving it in a jar at home or under the couch, send it to help children drink clean water, or go to school or any project operated by Islamic Relief. Simply place one of Islamic Relief's donation boxes in your home or business and turn your change into good deeds.

4. Community Garage Sale
Feeling guilty about all your stuff? Organize a few friends to compile all of your belongings you are willing to part with, and have a large garage sale. Your old clothes and furniture can be transformed into food and shelter for the needy by sending your collections to Islamic Relief.

5. Fundraising Dinner
Organizing a dinner in your community has been an Islamic Relief favorite. Many volunteers, in coordination with our staff have raised thousands of dollars for Palestine, Iraq, Chechnya and more through one evening of speeches and good food. Contact us and we will, send one of our staff to your area to help you plan.

6. Mosque Visit
If your community may not be ready just yet for a fundraising event, you help us arrange a visit your Mosque, or any other religious or community institution. Coordinate with the appropriate representative about accepting an Islamic Relief member to come and talk about the situation of impoverished people throughout the world.

7. School Project
Are you a teacher or student at a school? Islamic Relief is directly involved in educating our youth about the plight of needy people around the world in a positive and educational manner. Enhance your classroom learning through Language Arts, Math, Geography, and Social Studies by incorporating Islamic Relief's lesson plans into your classroom and help rebuild a school at the same time. 8. Medicine for the Needy Project
Do you belong to a medical community, association, or know someone who does? Help your community attain the reward of providing medical care to impoverished countries through sponsoring an ambulance or clinic. If a community pools their resources, hundreds of lives can be saved.
