Celebrating Palestinian Children

Children raised in environments of violence and fear often fall into hopelessness and despair. Currently, it is estimated that 90 percent of Palestinian children do not feel safe. Another 87 percent suffer from depression.

To give Palestinian children a creative outlet and help them overcome their harsh environment, Islamic Relief sponsored a five-day festival celebrating Palestinian children and their talents.

The five-day festival, called, “Palestine Festival for Childhood and Education,” was held in Gaza at the Community College of Applied Science and Technology and showcased a variety of performances by children, including an exhibition displaying children’s original artwork.

The festival not only sheds light on the creativity of Palestinian children, but also furthers efforts to facilitate creative outlets for children to help them escape their harsh surroundings.
