Islamic Relief Worldwide was established in Birmingham, UK in 1984 in response to the famine in Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief Worldwide has become one of the most respected relief and development organizations, expanding to provide humanitarian aid in various fields including medical, social, and educational.

Islamic Relief USA opened its offices in 1993 in Los Angeles, CA. Islamic Relief's offices in the United States serve to educate, inform, and raise awareness about its various relief and development projects, and humanitarian issues both domestically as well as internationally. Isalmic Relief USA holds seminars, fund-raising banquets, concerts, and other public awareness programs across the country to help fund Islamic Relief Worldwide projects.
